The application is responsive to MIDI note messages for navigating to cue points and controlling playback start and stop. Through MIDI CC messages, users can dynamically scale, rotate, and transform the video content in a live and interactive manner. Moreover, even without a MIDI keyboard, all app features are accessible via the built-in MIDI controller on another iOS device.

SmashCut offers diverse possibilities. It can facilitate seamless play and pause actions in presentations using video, enabling smooth transitions between different cue points. For video streaming or podcasting endeavors, SmashCut streamlines cueing to video clips with simplicity. The iPad version of the app is compatible with Silicon Macs and integrates well with streaming software like OBS.
